2026 Subaru Impreza: Streamlined Small Car Lineup with Elevated Prices and Enhanced Specs

The 2026 Subaru Impreza has undergone some changes, including a smaller size and higher prices across the hatchback range. Despite the price increase, new standard features have been added to the Impreza AWD 2.0L and AWD 2.0S variants. These features include Subaru’s Emergency Driving Stop System, which can bring the vehicle to a controlled stop if the driver becomes unresponsive while driving. Additionally, the AWD 2.0S now comes with a seat memory function.

Subaru Australia has streamlined the Impreza lineup to two variants – AWD 2.0L and AWD 2.0S – by removing the mid-range AWD 2.0R. The prices for the AWD 2.0L and AWD 2.0S have increased by $1000 and $2000 respectively. The Impreza now offers a new exterior finish, Citron Yellow Pearl, while another finish, Oasis Blue, has been removed.

The Impreza is exclusively offered with a 2.0-litre horizontally opposed four-cylinder Boxer engine in Australia. Other engine options available overseas are not offered here. The small hatchback features MacPherson strut front and double-wishbone rear suspension.

In terms of dimensions, the Impreza is only available as a five-door hatchback. The vehicle comes with a five-year unlimited-kilometer warranty and 12 months of roadside assistance. Subaru also offers capped-price servicing for five years or 75,000 km.

The Subaru Impreza has achieved a five-star rating from ANCAP based on testing conducted in 2024. Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and more.

There are two trim levels available for the 2026 Impreza – AWD 2.0L and AWD 2.0S. The AWD 2.0L comes with features such as automatic LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, and a 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The AWD 2.0S adds additional features like a power sunroof, leather-accented upholstery, and a surround-view camera.

The Impreza is offered in a variety of exterior paint finishes, including Crystal White Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, and Citron Yellow Pearl. Subaru also offers a range of accessories for the Impreza, including sporty under spoilers and Enkei alloy wheels.
