4Founders Capital Enters Hospitality Sector with €60 Million Fund Amid Robust Hotel Investment Market in Spain
4Founders Capital, a pre-Seed manager based in Barcelona, has recently surpassed €130 million in Assets Under Management (AUM) and is now venturing into the hotel real estate sector with the launch of their new fund, 4Founders Capital Hospitality. This new fund has an investment capacity of €60 million, a six-year duration, and has already received approval from the CNMV. The Fund is set to have its first closing in January and has already lined up several committed transactions.
The launch of 4Founders Capital Hospitality comes on the heels of the announcement of their third fund, 4Founders Capital III, with a target size of €65 million. The decision to venture into hotel real estate was driven by a partnership with businessman Enrique Domínguez, the Founder of the Gaiarooms chain.
In 2025, the hospitality, hotel real estate, and HotelTech ecosystem in Europe are expected to see sustained capital deployment. Several startups across Europe have secured significant funding, with Spain emerging as a hub for hospitality-focused innovation. Amenitiz in Barcelona raised €38.9 million, Room00 Group in Madrid secured up to €400 million, and other startups in Vienna, Amsterdam, and Milan also received substantial investments.
These developments highlight the growing interest in real estate-backed hospitality models and enabling technologies in the industry. The total disclosed funding in 2025, as reported by EU-Startups, amounts to approximately €453 million, underscoring the continued influx of capital into the sector.
Founded in 2017, 4Founders Capital is an independent Venture Capital and Real Estate fund manager with a focus on investing in high-growth technology companies. The launch of 4Founders Capital Hospitality signals their expansion into strategic hotel assets, prioritizing profitability, capital efficiency, and strong teams.
The new fund aims to invest in around 15 hotels located in prime areas of Tier 2 cities with a strong tourism component. The strategy is based on the untapped potential in the Spanish hotel market, where a significant portion of the hotel stock remains underinvested. The Fund’s objective is to generate returns through both hotel operations and real estate value creation, driven by digitalization.
To lead this new venture, Enrique Domínguez, the Founder of GaiaRooms, has joined as the Head of Investment Strategy. GaiaRooms is a prominent Spanish operator in the long-tail hotel segment, known for its digitalized asset management model.
With the launch of 4Founders Capital Hospitality, the company aims to leverage its expertise in active management, technology, and value creation to capitalize on the solid fundamentals and high return potential of the hotel real estate sector. This move reinforces their position as a diversified investment platform aligned with the interests of their investors.
