Spotify brings video podcasts and music videos to its Apple TV app

Spotify Unveils Redesigned Apple TV App with Exciting New Features

Spotify has recently introduced a revamped version of its Apple TV app, promising users a faster, smarter, and more visually engaging experience. The company has rebuilt the app from the ground up to enhance user interaction and enjoyment. Among the notable updates are the inclusion of video podcasts and music videos, features previously exclusive to the mobile app.

While some users have already had early access to the updated app, it is now available for download to all Apple TV users via the App Store. Automatic updates will also roll out gradually, reaching all devices by mid-November. This new version aims to address previous complaints regarding navigation issues and missing features, providing a more seamless and comprehensive user experience.

Although music video streaming is not yet available in the US and Canada, Spotify has expanded this feature to 97 markets globally. Premium subscribers can enjoy a limited selection of music videos, easily accessible through a dedicated prompt when a corresponding video is available for a song being played.

The new Spotify tvOS app also introduces video podcasts with adjustable playback speeds, catering to a more interactive and personalized listening experience. In a recent collaboration with Netflix and The Ringer, Spotify’s podcast studio will bring 16 video podcast series to the US, including popular shows like The Bill Simmons Podcast and content centered around sports and entertainment.

Additional enhancements to the Spotify Apple TV app include queue management, seamless playback, access to song lyrics, and Spotify DJ, an AI-powered feature that recommends music based on user preferences. Users can now control playback on their Apple TV using their mobile devices through the Spotify Connect feature, adding convenience and flexibility to their listening experience.
