Microsoft Word Feature to Send Documents to Kindle Being Retired

Microsoft has announced the retirement of a convenient feature that allowed users to send documents directly to their Kindle devices from Microsoft Word.

According to a recent update on the support document, Microsoft has confirmed the removal of the option to Send Documents to Kindle from Microsoft Word.

This change is set to take effect after February 2026, although the exact rollout date has not been specified, raising the possibility of a staged implementation.

Once the feature is retired, the Send to Kindle option will no longer be accessible through the Export menu in Microsoft Word.

Microsoft suggests utilizing the Send to Kindle site directly for sending doc and docx files to Kindle libraries following the retirement of the feature.

The Send to Kindle feature enabled users to effortlessly transfer Microsoft Word documents to their Kindle libraries, offering customizable font sizes and page layouts akin to Kindle books or printed documents.

Microsoft emphasized that when using Send to Kindle, Word maintains the formatting style and page layouts, similar to how they would appear in print, with the exception of comments and tracked changes.

Regrettably, the option to use Send to Kindle will cease to be available after February 2026.
