Amazon
AI Shopping Assistant: The ‘Help Me Decide’ Button
Amazon Introduces AI-Powered Tool for Easier Product Selection
In an effort to streamline the shopping experience, Amazon has launched a new AI-powered tool that aims to assist users in selecting the right product. This innovative feature is designed to help customers make informed decisions when faced with multiple similar items on Amazon’s app or mobile website.
How Does the Tool Work?
Upon viewing several comparable products, users may now encounter a “Help me decide” button, strategically placed in the top-right corner of the Amazon Shopping app or mobile browser. This button analyzes the user’s browsing activity, search history, shopping patterns, and preferences to offer a personalized recommendation.
Personalized Recommendations Example
For instance, if a user is in the market for a new camping tent, Amazon’s AI tool will suggest a specific model based on the user’s previous interactions with tents and related items. This means that the tool might recommend an all-season four-person tent if the user has shown interest in adult and kids’ sleeping bags for cold weather or has purchased kids’ hiking boots in the past.
Additional Features
Apart from the primary recommendation, users can also explore an affordable “budget pick” and a more expensive “upgrade option” selected by the AI tool. This allows users to compare different products and make a well-informed decision based on their preferences and budget.
The “Help me decide” button is currently being rolled out to millions of users in the US, promising a more personalized and efficient shopping experience on Amazon’s platform.
