Norwegian AI hospitality startup Altek AI recently secured €423k ($500k) in a pre-Seed round to enhance integrations with hotel systems, expand autonomous workflows, and accelerate growth in Scandinavia and Europe. The funding was led by StartupLab, a prominent incubator and early stage investor in Norwegian technology startups.

Altek AI was selected to participate in the FutureTravel Summit 2025, an industry event that showcases innovative travel and hospitality technology companies to potential investors and corporate stakeholders. Co-founder Jon-Fredrik ‘Joffen’ Hopland emphasized that Altek AI is focused on developing AI agents that can handle guest communication end-to-end and operate within hotel systems, essentially creating digital employees.

The pre-Seed round for Altek AI aligns with a broader trend of capital inflow into European hospitality and AI-driven hotel operations. Companies like Amsterdam-based Mews and Barcelona-based Amenitiz have raised significant funding to enhance automation and AI-enabled workflows in hotel operations.

Other startups, including Vienna-based chatlyn and London-based Inntelo AI, have also attracted investments for their AI-driven guest communication platforms. Altek AI’s approach of automating guest communication through deep system integrations is gaining traction in the industry.

Founded in 2024, Altek AI is developing an AI operating layer for hotels, deploying autonomous AI agents to manage guest communication across various channels. The company’s successful pilot project at a spa resort outside Oslo validated the effectiveness of automation in improving operational efficiency for hotels.

Altek AI currently serves 37 hotels in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, with a reported annual recurring revenue of €119k ($140k) and consistent month-over-month growth. The company’s solutions have been well-received by clients like The Well, a prominent spa resort in Norway, where Altek AI’s agents have streamlined guest communication processes.

Altek AI’s plans to deepen integrations with hotel systems, expand automation in the guest journey, and extend its reach beyond the Nordics will be supported by the recent funding. The company’s innovative approach to autonomous guest communication is poised to revolutionize the hospitality sector and drive operational efficiency for hotels worldwide.
