After a year of successful operation in the U.S., Amazon is now taking its low-cost shopping service, Amazon Haul, global. This move is set to intensify competition with companies like Temu and Shein, especially as recent U.S. trade policy changes affect the import model utilized by Chinese businesses.

Originally launched in the U.S., Amazon Haul has now spread to 25 countries and regions, with the company renaming the service as “Amazon Bazaar” in multiple markets.

To mark the anniversary of Haul, Amazon has officially removed the service from beta and announced a two-day shopping event on November 10 and 11. The event will showcase a wide range of products, with thousands of items priced at $1 on the first day and 11-cent “hidden treasures” on the second day.

This expansion comes as companies like Temu and Shein face challenges following the U.S. decision to eliminate the de minimis trade exemption, which previously allowed duty-free shipments of packages valued at less than $800 from China to the U.S.

Amazon has strategically utilized its U.S. fulfillment network for Haul orders to mitigate the impact of tariffs on direct-to-consumer shipments from China.

Amazon Haul offers customers a dedicated storefront where they can find items typically priced under $20, many of which are under $10. Originally a mobile-only service, Haul has now expanded to the web, with orders typically arriving within one to two weeks.

Since June, customer visits to Haul have tripled, and the product selection has increased by nearly 400% in the past year, featuring over 1 million items priced under $10. To incentivize larger orders, Amazon now provides a 5% discount on orders over $50 and a 10% discount on orders over $75.
