Amazon-owned Ring has unveiled a cutting-edge solution for commercial security with the launch of the Ring Mobile Security Trailer, a solar-powered surveillance trailer priced at $5,000. This innovative product is designed to cater to parking lots, construction sites, and events, marking Ring’s expansion beyond residential security.

The Ring Mobile Security Trailer features a 360-degree camera with 4k resolution, providing high-definition visibility without blind spots. This new offering showcases Ring’s renewed focus on security under the leadership of Ring founder Jamie Siminoff, who rejoined the company after departing in 2023.

This move positions Ring in direct competition with established commercial security players like Verkada and Motorola Solutions, as well as traditional industrial providers such as Bosch and Hikvision. Leveraging its brand recognition in residential security and Amazon’s infrastructure, Ring aims to offer competitive pricing and a comprehensive security system that bridges home and business security.

Scheduled for release in the spring, the Ring trailer can operate on line power with battery backup or function off-grid using solar panels. It boasts built-in LTE connectivity, eliminating the need for external internet infrastructure. The trailer’s versatility allows it to be detached, mounted in a truck bed, or used as a standalone station, making it ideal for temporary deployments like festivals.

The Ring “Jobsite” security portfolio, which includes the new Ring Elite camera line for large-scale business settings, demonstrates Ring’s commitment to offering tailored security solutions for various commercial environments.

In addition to its commercial offerings, Ring introduced the “Fire Watch” feature in collaboration with the non-profit Watch Duty, providing real-time wildfire alerts within the Ring app and enabling camera owners to share snapshots with first responders.
