Apple Fans Left Waiting: The Delayed Release of the iPhone Air
Apple Reportedly Scraps Plans for Second-Generation iPhone Air
Recent reports from The Information suggest that Apple has decided not to proceed with the launch of a second-generation iPhone Air, and has significantly reduced production of the initial model. The iPhone Air, known for its ultra-thin design, was introduced by Apple in September. However, it appears that the device did not meet the expected level of success, prompting Apple to rethink its future plans.
Changes in Apple’s iPhone Lineup for 2026 and 2027
According to the same source, Apple had initially aimed to unveil a new iPhone Air model in the upcoming fall, boasting a lighter build and increased battery capacity compared to the current version. Additionally, the new model was expected to feature a vapor chamber, similar to the iPhone 17 Pro series released this year.
With the cancellation of the second-generation iPhone Air, Apple’s iPhone lineup for fall 2026 is anticipated to include the iPhone 18 Pro and the highly-anticipated foldable iPhone. The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18E models are scheduled for release in spring 2027. However, there are speculations that Apple may still introduce the new iPhone Air in the spring of 2027, as per sources from The Information.
