iOS 26.4 beta adds new 'Playlist Playground' AI feature for Apple Music

Apple has just rolled out the first beta of iOS 26.4 for developers, and it introduces a new Apple Music feature called Apple Intelligence. This feature, known as “Playlist Playground,” allows users to create playlists based on text descriptions.

To access Playlist Playground, users can tap on the new playlist icon located in the upper-right corner of the “Library” page within the Apple Music app. From there, users can enter a text prompt, and Apple Music will automatically generate a playlist based on the request. Additionally, there are built-in prompts for “New Playlist Ideas” available. Once a playlist is created, users have the option to add it to their Apple Music library. They can also manually add or remove songs and change the order of tracks.

One of the key features of Playlist Playground is the ability to iterate on a generated playlist with further prompts without having to start the process over. If the new option is not immediately visible in the Music app on an iPhone after updating to iOS 26.4, it may be because the new Apple Intelligence models are still downloading. Users can check the status of this by navigating to the Settings app and selecting the “Apple Intelligence & Siri” menu.

While iOS 26.4 is currently only available to developer beta testers, a public beta release is expected in the coming weeks.

In addition to this update, Apple has also released a range of MagSafe accessories for iPhones that users may find essential. To stay updated on Apple news and developments, follow Chance on Threads, Bluesky, Instagram, and Mastodon.
