Apple TV+ Delivers a Culinary Thriller in This Week’s Episode

Apple TV+ is launching two new shows today, adding to its diverse range of content. One show is a high-stakes kitchen docuseries featuring Gordon Ramsay, while the other is a rugged Alaskan thriller led by Jason Clarke.
Both shows showcase Apple TV+’s expanding variety and ability to explore different genres. One is set in elite kitchens around the world, while the other takes place in the harsh Alaskan wilderness.
Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars
Apple TV+ announced a partnership with Gordon Ramsay to produce an eight-episode documentary series hosted by food expert Jesse Burgess. The series aims to delve into the intense world of international fine dining by following elite chefs as they strive to earn or retain a coveted Michelin Star.
Jesse Burgess, the host, emphasized the prestige of the Michelin Star, stating, “There’s no honor in any industry as prestigious and influential as the Michelin Star.” He expressed excitement about showcasing the stories of top restaurants worldwide in their quest for culinary excellence.
The series travels to cities like Los Angeles, London, Mexico City, and Copenhagen, where chefs vie for a star or risk losing one as they are anonymously reviewed by Michelin Guide inspectors.
Ramsay recently hosted a premiere event in London, bringing together culinary legends from various parts of the world. The docuseries offers unprecedented access to the world of Michelin, including interviews with anonymous inspectors and insights into the pursuit of perfection.
The first two episodes are now available for streaming on Apple TV+, with subsequent episodes releasing every Friday until late November. The series will explore elite restaurants in Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Ireland, Mexico, Italy, and California.
Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars is produced by Studio Ramsay Global for Apple TV+ and features Ramsay, Lisa Edwards, and Morgan Roberts as executive producers.
The Last Frontier
On a contrasting note, Apple TV+ premieres The Last Frontier, a chilling series starring Jason Clarke as lone US marshal Frank Remnick in the Alaskan wilderness. The story unfolds as Remnick faces a group of violent criminals who have escaped from a prison transport plane, leading to a high-stakes battle for survival.
The series, announced by Apple in early 2023, highlights Remnick’s suspicions about the plane crash and the potential consequences of a meticulously planned escape.
Alongside Clarke, the cast includes Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Simone Kessell, Dallas Goldtooth, Tait Blum, and Alfre Woodard. The show is produced by Apple Studios and executive produced by Jon Bokenkamp and Richard D’Ovidio.
The first season of The Last Frontier premieres with two episodes available now on Apple TV+, followed by weekly releases until early December.
Apple TV+ continues to offer a diverse range of content, catering to various tastes and preferences. Whether it’s intense kitchen dramas or chilling wilderness thrillers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
