Apple releases iOS 26.1 for iPhone with these changes

Apple has recently rolled out iOS 26.1 for all iPhone users, bringing a host of new features and improvements. One of the standout additions in this update is the Liquid Glass toggle, allowing users to choose between the clear design seen in previous versions of iOS and a new tinted option. This tinted setting adjusts the opacity behind elements like notifications and tab bars, while still maintaining other Liquid Glass visual elements such as clear app icons.

To access the Liquid Glass toggle, users can navigate to Settings > Display & Brightness > Liquid Glass on their iPhone or iPad. Mac users can also find this option in Settings > Appearance > Liquid Glass, although the differences in appearance are less noticeable on macOS.

In addition to the Liquid Glass toggle, iOS 26.1 introduces a new Lock Screen Swipe feature. This toggle allows users to disable the swipe-to-open Camera gesture on the lock screen, which can be found in Settings > Camera > Lock Screen Swipe to Open Camera.

The update also includes enhancements to Apple Intelligence, AirPods Live Translation, Apple TV, and iPad Slide Over. Apple Intelligence now supports additional languages such as Chinese (traditional), Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, and Vietnamese. AirPods Live Translation has expanded its language support to include Chinese (Mandarin simplified and traditional), Italian, Japanese, and Korean.

Furthermore, Apple has rebranded its streaming video service from Apple TV+ to simply Apple TV, accompanied by a new vibrant icon for the Apple TV app. The Settings app now features a Local Capture section under General, allowing users to customize where Local Capture files are saved and toggle audio-only capture.

Other notable improvements in iOS 26.1 include a new Slide to Unlock interface for dismissing alarms, a swipe gesture for changing songs in the Music app, and various other enhancements.

iOS 26.1 is compatible with iPhone 11 and later, iPhone SE 2 and later, and iPhone Air. Users can update their devices to enjoy these new features and enhancements.

Overall, iOS 26.1 brings a range of exciting updates and improvements to the iPhone and iPad user experience. With the addition of the Liquid Glass toggle, Lock Screen Swipe feature, and enhancements to Apple Intelligence and AirPods Live Translation, users can enjoy a more personalized and streamlined iOS experience.
