iOS 26.1: What to Expect from Apple’s Latest Update

Apple has just released the fourth developer beta version of iOS 26.1, the first major update to their operating system. The public beta version is also now available for testing.

The official release of iOS 26.1 is expected by the end of October or early November. This update brings several changes to the iOS 26 platform.

One of the key features of iOS 26.1 is the expanded language support for Apple Intelligence and AirPods Live Translation. Apple Intelligence now supports languages like Chinese (traditional), Danish, Dutch, and more. AirPods Live Translation now includes languages such as Chinese (Mandarin), Italian, Japanese, and Korean.

Additionally, Apple is rebranding their streaming video service from Apple TV+ to simply Apple TV, along with a new logo for the Apple TV app.

Other updates in iOS 26.1 include a new Local Capture section in the Settings app, improvements to alarms dismissal with a Slide to Unlock interface, and a swipe gesture for changing songs in the Music app.

Today’s release of iOS 26.1 beta 4 introduces a toggle for adjusting Liquid Glass transparency and various other enhancements.
