Avowed: A New Chapter on PS5
Obsidian’s Fantasy RPG “Avowed” Set to Release on PlayStation 5 in February 2026
Exciting news for PlayStation 5 players as it has been officially announced that Obsidian’s highly anticipated fantasy RPG, Avowed, will be launching on the platform on 17th February 2026. This release will coincide with an anniversary update that will also be available for PC and Xbox Series X|S users.
The confirmation came during an interview for New Game Plus, where details about the upcoming update were revealed.
The anniversary update promises to enhance the gaming experience, introducing three new playable races – dwarves, orlan, and aumaua, as well as a new weapon type. Additionally, a new game plus mode will be added, along with a long-awaited photo mode for capturing in-game moments.
Avowed transports players back to the enchanting realm of the Living Lands within the fantasy world of Eora, familiar to fans of Obsidian’s previous Pillars of Eternity games. Unlike its predecessors, Avowed shifts to a first-person action RPG format, offering large open areas to explore reminiscent of The Outer Worlds.
Last year, Avowed garnered praise from Xbox and PC gamers, becoming a standout RPG title. With Microsoft’s commitment to delivering long-awaited projects and expanding Xbox Game Pass offerings, Avowed has been hailed as an “incredible RPG” with a captivating world and engaging narrative.
As the gaming industry continues to evolve, Avowed represents a significant step forward for Obsidian and promises an immersive and compelling gaming experience for players on all platforms.
