Battlefield 6 Season 2 Delayed Until February

Battlefield Studios has announced that Season 2 of Battlefield 6 has been delayed until February. To fill the extra month wait, Season 1 will be extended with new content.

Season 2 is now scheduled to start on February 17th. In the meantime, Season 1’s battle pass will be extended, and new weekly challenges along with a Frostfire Bonus Path of content will be added on January 27th.

The development team stated, “During our ongoing development, we’ve continued to review community feedback. In order to keep our promise, we have decided to extend Season 1 to further polish and refine Season 2.”

Updates with fixes and stability improvements are set to be released on January 20th. The Frostfire Bonus Path of battle pass will follow on January 27th, offering a weapon package, soldier skin XP Boosts, and more for premium Battle Pass holders. The free track will include Hardware XP Boost, vehicle skin, player card customization, and more.

The Bonus Path will complement the Season 1 Battle Pass, giving players more time to unlock additional tiers. Bonus Path Points are earned through Weekly Challenges, although not all challenges reward these points.

Upcoming events include a Valentine’s Day event with duos, daily login rewards, and double XP weekends to enhance the gameplay experience.

The community on Reddit has expressed disappointment with the amount of content added to the game so far. Comparisons have been made to Battlefield 4’s paid DLC map output, critiques of map design, cosmetics, and concerns about the game’s future. EA’s success with Battlefield 6 has positioned them as a strong rival to Call of Duty, but ongoing game support is crucial to maintain this status.
