Belgium’s Tinrate Raises €1.6 Million for Revolutionary Platform: The Ultimate Knowledge Monetization Tool
In a remarkable turn of events, Kortrijk-based Tinrate, a platform designed to facilitate the exchange of advice and expertise, has successfully secured a Seed round of €1.6 million just one month after its establishment. The funding will enable Tinrate to expand its operations and reach a wider audience.
Notable investors in this round include Steve Rousseau from World of Talents, Helena Brutsaert from Get Driven, and Arne Vandendriessche from Signpost, among others. Belfius has also shown its support for the project. Founder Gunther Ghysels expressed his vision for Tinrate, emphasizing the importance of changing the traditional approach to seeking and providing advice and expertise.
Tinrate’s Seed round aligns with the growing trend of investment in platforms focused on expertise, professional services, and AI-enabled matching in the European funding landscape of 2025. Similar platforms like Ethos, which recently secured €3 million for its AI-driven expert matching network, are also gaining traction in the market.
This influx of capital extends beyond expert marketplaces to include technologies and platforms that support knowledge work and services. Companies like nexos.ai, which raised €30 million to help enterprises manage AI usage, and Parloa, which closed a €310 million Series D round for its AI-based customer service agent platform, are indicative of this trend.
Investor Viktor Verhulst highlighted the importance of securing sufficient resources for innovative platforms in the current market environment. He acknowledged the pressure that comes with the support of prominent investors but expressed gratitude for their belief in the project.
With over 1,000 professionals already registered on the platform, Tinrate aims to revolutionize the way people access and share expertise online. Users can create profiles and connect with experts in various fields, from solicitors to tax specialists, through video calls. The platform streamlines the booking, payment, and feedback processes, offering a seamless experience for both users and professionals.
Founder Gunther Ghysels emphasized the value of practical experience in contrast to theoretical knowledge available online. He believes that platforms like Tinrate will play a crucial role in connecting individuals with real-world expertise, complementing the information found on platforms like ChatGPT.
As Tinrate continues to grow and evolve, its focus on connecting users with valuable expertise in a range of niches sets it apart in the online marketplace. The platform’s commitment to facilitating knowledge exchange and practical learning experiences positions it as a key player in the digital landscape of the future.
