The BMW Z4 is nearing the end of its production run, but not without a proper sendoff from BMW. The Final Edition of the Z4 is limited to the M40i trim in the United States, priced at $78,675. However, European customers have a wider selection available to them, including the sDrive20i and sDrive30i trims in addition to the M40i.

Final Edition Pricing Varies by Trim

In Germany, the Final Edition is offered as a €4,200 upgrade for the sDrive30i and M40i models. Opting for the base sDrive20i will cost you €7,400 due to the inclusion of the M Sport Package, which is standard on the sDrive30i and M40i but optional on the sDrive20i.

Differences Between the U.S. and Europe

The differences between the U.S. and European versions of the Final Edition extend to exterior colors as well. While American customers are limited to Individual Frozen Black, European buyers have the option to choose from all regular Z4 shades at no extra cost. Both versions feature red brake calipers and Shadowline trim.

Inside, the Final Edition models in both regions feature Vernasca leather and Alcantara upholstery with red stitching throughout the cabin. A “Final Edition” logo is also present on the door sills. Whether you opt for the manual gearbox or the Steptronic transmission, pricing remains consistent.

Order Dates and Production End

European customers can place orders for the Z4 Final Edition starting in late January, with production concluding in March. The U.S. version will continue production until April, with the final car rolling off the assembly line at that time. After production ends, the Z4 will no longer be available.

Looking ahead, BMW does not have plans for a fourth-generation Z4 as part of its upcoming vehicle lineup. The focus will be on volume models such as the iX3 and the i3 sedan. While a new Z car may not be a priority for BMW in the near future, there is still hope that the “Zukunft” (German for “future”) will bring the return of the Z series someday.
