Apple is killing the old HomeKit tomorrow

Reports on the anticipated “HomePod with a screen” have been circulating for some time now. Initially set for a 2025 launch, then pushed to this spring, the latest updates suggest it has been delayed until fall. Recently, leaker Kosutami shared this information on X, followed by Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman confirming a 2027 release for its robot arm-equipped counterpart.

The device, which was originally expected to be available by now, is now projected to debut later this year. Alongside it, the iPhone 18 Pro and updates for iOS, macOS, and other systems are also slated for 2027. Described as a silver aluminum-cased gadget with a 7-inch screen and USB-C power port running tvOS 27, it will be accompanied by new versions of the HomePod speaker and Apple TV 4K box. Additionally, a smart home sensor is currently in development.
