Breaking News: GTA 6 Faces Second Delay

Hi everyone, GTA 6 has been hit with delay number two

Rockstar Games has once again delayed the highly anticipated release of GTA 6, pushing it back to November 19th, 2026. This latest delay was announced in Take-Two’s financial report, with Rockstar apologizing for the extended wait. The additional months are said to be necessary to ensure the game meets the high level of polish expected by fans.

Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick, expressed support for Rockstar’s decision, citing the need for perfection in delivering a blockbuster entertainment experience. The game’s original release goal of autumn 2025 has now been pushed back by a year, with Zelnick emphasizing the importance of allowing more time for development.

In a tweet, Rockstar announced the new release date of GTA 6 on November 19th, 2026, adding humorously that the delay was akin to a substitute teacher taking over until then. The tweet also highlighted the studio’s commitment to delivering a top-notch gaming experience.

Zelnick further discussed the delay in an interview, noting that the extended timeline has allowed for further development of the title. Despite the setback, Take-Two remains confident in Rockstar’s ability to deliver a game that will exceed expectations.

Despite the delay, Rockstar will continue to focus on GTA Online to keep fans engaged while awaiting the release of GTA 6. Zelnick emphasized that the new release date, though a year away, is essential for ensuring the game meets expectations.

Amidst the announcement of the delay, protests have erupted outside Take-Two’s London offices and Rockstar North’s Edinburgh HQ. The protests stem from the firing of around 30 employees in the UK for alleged “gross misconduct”. The IWGB Union claims the firings were in response to unionization efforts, while Rockstar cites the sharing of confidential information as the reason for termination.
