Bugatti FKP Hommage: One-off melds Chiron W16 with Veyron's design

The Bugatti Veyron FKP Hommage: A Tribute to Ferdinand Karl Piëch

Bugatti has unveiled the Bugatti Veyron FKP Hommage, the second car from its Solitare bespoke commission division. This special edition hypercar pays tribute to Ferdinand Karl Piëch, the former CEO of the Volkswagen Group and the visionary behind the original Veyron project.

While the Bugatti Veyron FKP Hommage shares a similar body to its predecessor, it actually features the latest evolution of the W16 platform, making it essentially a restyled version of the Chiron. The hypercar boasts a more powerful 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine borrowed from the Chiron Super Sport.

Bugatti describes the exterior of the FKP Hommage as a “subtle yet significant evolution” of the original Veyron design. The front end features a more 3D appearance with a prominent horseshoe grille that seamlessly integrates into the overall aesthetics of the vehicle.

The rear of the Bugatti Veyron FKP Hommage showcases classic afterburner-style tail-lights, but with a wider and more aggressive stance. The two-tone paint job highlights the car’s unique design, with red sections featuring a silver base coat and black portions crafted from exposed carbon-fibre.

The Veyron FKP Hommage boasts an impressive power output of 1176kW and 1600Nm, a significant upgrade from its predecessor. This immense power is delivered by the 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine, propelling the hypercar to new performance heights.

In terms of design, the interior of the Bugatti Veyron FKP Hommage is a true work of art. The steering wheel, dashboard, and center console are meticulously crafted from solid blocks of aluminium, giving the cabin a luxurious and bespoke feel.

Unique features like fabric woven in Paris on the seats and door cards, and a 41mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon clock with a self-winding mechanism, further accentuate the exclusivity of the FKP Hommage.

According to a Bugatti spokesperson, the Bugatti Veyron FKP Hommage comes with a hefty price tag of over €10 million (A$17 million). The hypercar will be showcased at the Retromobile Paris exhibition before making its way to its lucky owner’s garage.
