Bugatti’s Final W-16 Masterpiece Gets a Golden Touch

Bugatti’s Sur Mesure division, established in 2021, specializes in enhancing the exclusivity of their supercars through bespoke customization options. Customers have the opportunity to select materials and paintwork ideas, making their Bugatti performance car truly unique.

The latest addition to the Sur Mesure department is the W16 Mistral “La Perle Rare,” a customized Bugatti hypercar that showcases personalized exterior and interior features. The goal of the “La Perle Rare” is to enhance the Mistral’s individuality with a sculptural and flowing aesthetic, reminiscent of Bugatti’s past masterpieces like the Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc.

The exterior design of the “La Perle Rare” features organic curved lines in a combination of white and gold, hand-applied to create a visually stunning effect. These lines, reminiscent of the Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc, extend to the diamond-cut alloy wheels, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship.

The interior of the Bugatti W16 Mistral “La Perle Rare” is characterized by white upholstery with flowing lines of gold and white, creating a fluid and luxurious ambiance. The cabin is further enhanced by warm ambient lighting and polished machined aluminum trimmings, adding to the overall opulence of the hypercar.

One of the standout features of the interior is the iconic “Dancing Elephant” image stitched into the seats, doors, and gear selector glass. This emblem, sculpted by Rembrandt, Ettore Bugatti’s younger brother, was originally used as a hood ornament on the opulent Type 41 Royale.

To complement the exquisite design of the Bugatti W16 Mistral, the name “La Perle Rare” is scripted on various parts of the hypercar, including the engine covers, active rear wing, and center tunnel. These subtle details add a touch of sophistication to the overall look of the Mistral.

The powertrain of the Bugatti W16 Mistral remains unchanged, featuring a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine that delivers an impressive 1,578 horsepower and a top speed of 260 mph. This hypercar is the last to feature this iconic engine, making it a true collector’s item.

While Bugatti has not disclosed the price of the “La Perle Rare” Mistral, it is expected to exceed $5 million, reflecting the exclusivity and craftsmanship that goes into creating these personalized masterpieces.
