The Revelation
A recent internal video discovered by Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming has brought to light a shocking revelation. Build a Rocket Boy CEO Mark Gerhard reportedly disclosed to his team that they had identified the culprits behind the sabotage of the MindsEye game launch. Gerhard claimed that a major American company was involved in the plot, although not the one commonly suspected.
The Allegations
According to Gerhard, the sabotage campaign was orchestrated by Ritual Network, a UK-based company. They allegedly enlisted the help of three unnamed journalists, multiple influencers, and even some Build a Rocket Boy employees to tarnish the reputation of MindsEye. Legal action is imminent, with criminal complaints for espionage, sabotage, and criminal interference set to be filed against all involved parties.
The Fallout
Gerhard expressed determination for justice, stating, “This is the start of our comeback.” Surprisingly, the company plans to incorporate the names of the accused individuals in an upcoming spy-themed mission within the game. This bold move aims to engage the community and shed light on the situation before it unfolds in court.
Ritual Network’s Response
Ritual Network swiftly denied any involvement in the alleged sabotage, emphasizing their role as a creator support platform. They refuted the accusations and claimed to have no knowledge or evidence supporting the claims against them.
Game Reception
MindsEye, released without review copies, received mixed feedback. With a Metacritic score of 37/100 from critics and 2.5/10 from users, including numerous negative reviews, the alleged influencers seemingly succeeded in their mission. Personal experiences with the game, like my own playthrough on PS5 two months post-launch, offer valuable insights.
