Apple Arcade Welcomes Civilization VII and Retrocade

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is set to make its debut on Apple Arcade on February 5th, granting players access to the popular strategy game on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac with a subscription fee of $6.99 per month. This version of the game retains the core premise of the original PC title, challenging players to expand their empires with the guidance of historical leaders from around the world.

The Apple Arcade iteration of Civilization VII introduces touch controls, as well as support for mouse and controller input on macOS and iOS devices. However, there are some limitations to be aware of – the Civilization VII Arcade Edition will not feature multiplayer functionality at launch, nor will it offer the downloadable content available on PC and other platforms. Additionally, players with devices boasting less than 8GB of RAM will only have access to large and huge map sizes.

In addition to the arrival of Civilization VII, Apple Arcade is expanding its library with the introduction of Retrocade, a collection of classic titles including Asteroids, Bubble Bobble, Centipede, and Galaga available on Apple Vision Pro, iPhone, and iPad. The platform will also feature Felicity’s Door, a rhythm game, and I Love Hue Too+, a puzzle game, on February 5th.
