Clippy, Xbox, and Zune: The Return of Microsoft’s Ugly Sweaters in Brown
Microsoft Holiday Sweaters: A Nostalgic Blast from the Past
This holiday season, Microsoft is bringing back its iconic ugly sweaters, much to the delight of fans. After a hiatus in 2024, the tech giant has unveiled a new line of festive sweaters that pay homage to its rich history.
The “Artifact” holiday sweater is a standout piece, featuring retro iconography that includes Clippy, MSN, Minesweeper, Internet Explorer, MS-DOS, and various Windows logos. For those who appreciate a more daring look, there is the Zune brown option, complete with a quirky play button design. Additionally, Microsoft offers a green Xbox version for gaming enthusiasts.
Originally introduced in 2018 as a gift to Windows fans, Microsoft’s ugly sweaters have become a sought-after holiday tradition. While the company began selling them to customers in 2020, there was a noticeable absence in 2024. However, this year’s collection is now available for purchase through Microsoft’s online store and its physical location in Redmond, Washington. Additionally, holiday sweaters can be found at the Microsoft store in New York City.
