Deadline Extended: Fitbit Users Must Switch to Google Account by May
Fitbit Users Given Extension to Switch Data to Google Account
Fitbit users who have been hesitant to transfer their data to a Google account now have until May 19th, 2026, to make the transition. The deadline, originally set for February 2nd, has been extended according to information on Google’s help page for Fitbit account migration.
Data Download and Deletion Deadline Extended
Users are now informed that they can download or delete their data at any time before data deletions begin on July 15, 2026. The specific timeframe for data deletion provides users with extra time to secure their Fitbit data beyond the revised migration deadline.
Revised Cut-Off Date for Fitbit Account Migrations
Google has once again delayed the deadline for Fitbit account migrations, which were initially set for 2025 before being postponed to February 2nd, and now to May 19th. After this final deadline, users will no longer have access to their accounts or the associated historical data unless they have downloaded or retained their data during the migration process.
Google has not yet responded to requests for comment on these developments.
