Deflect-o-Parrying: The Quirky Addition to Jump Space’s Latest Update
Jump Space Receives Major Update: New Melee Weapons and Item Shops
The popular co-operative starship mishap sim, Jump Space, has just launched its first major update during the early access phase. This update introduces functional capitalism and a thrilling trio of melee weapons that have added a new layer of excitement to the game.
One of the significant changes in this update is the introduction of item shops at the home base. Players can now visit these shops to stock up on essential items such as guns, repair kits, and artifact buffs before embarking on a mission. This new feature adds a strategic element to the game, allowing players to prepare better for their adventures.
The newly added wrench, crowbar, and sci-fi Heatblade sword are the highlight of this update. Apart from their generous impact damage, these melee weapons can deflect laser blasts back at enemies with a well-timed block. This addition of parrying mechanics not only enhances the combat system but also adds a fun and challenging element to the gameplay.
Despite the simplicity of Jump Space’s shooting mechanics, these new melee weapons have proven to be a valuable addition. They not only offer a fresh gameplay experience but also provide players with a unique and enjoyable way to engage with enemies.
While the addition of item shops and melee weapons has been well-received, some players have expressed concerns about equipment permanence. The developers have clarified that there are no plans to introduce a feature that allows players to store their favorite guns for safekeeping. Instead, they aim to make higher-tier loot spawns more common to encourage players to try out different weapons.
In addition to these gameplay changes, the update also includes new mission modifiers and a Halloween event. Players can now encounter additional baddie spaceships during missions and participate in a festive quest to collect pumpkins. The reward for completing this event is a pumpkin helmet, adding a fun and seasonal touch to the game.
Despite the positive changes introduced in this update, Jump Space still faces challenges related to mission and environment repetition. The developers acknowledge this issue and are working towards addressing it in future updates. While there is still room for improvement, this update marks a promising start towards enhancing the overall gameplay experience of Jump Space.
