Destinus, a company based in Katwijk specializing in aerospace and defense, has recently secured a €50 million financing facility from Commerzbank. This marks a significant milestone for the company as it is their first commercial bank facility, supporting their industrial expansion across Europe.

The financing from Commerzbank adds to the €140 million in convertible instruments and shareholder loans that Destinus recently completed, in addition to earlier equity financing. With these new financial resources, the company has raised over €200 million in equity, bringing their total capital raised to nearly €400 million.

Mikhail Kokorich, the founder and CEO of Destinus, expressed the importance of securing this facility as a signal of confidence in Europe’s ability to develop high-performance autonomous flight systems on a large scale. He emphasized that this financing will support their production roadmap and accelerate the industrialization of their platforms for European and allied customers.

In 2025, there has been a notable influx of funding into European defense, UAV, and autonomous systems startups, particularly in the early and growth-stage sectors.

Various companies such as Orbotix, Rift, Monopulse, and SalesPatriot have received funding to advance their respective projects in defense technology and autonomous systems. These investments highlight the growing interest in developing innovative solutions for defense and aerospace industries in Europe.

Destinus’ €50 million bank facility and total capital raised of nearly €400 million position them as a significant player in the European defense technology landscape. This sets them apart from many early-stage startups in the sector and showcases their potential for large-scale industrial development.

Mikhail Kokorich expressed gratitude for the trust shown by lenders and investors, as well as the advisory support provided by Rothschild & Co and CLEAR throughout their financing activities.
