Dripl: From Coca-Cola Spare Parts to €4 Million Funding
Dripl Raises €4 Million to Expand Smart Water Dispenser Business
Brussels-based Dripl, the company behind smart water dispensers, has secured €4 million in funding to enhance its smart dispensers beyond the 500 companies already using them in the Benelux region. The funding will also support the expansion of their production facility in Leuven and the launch of their products in more European regions.
The funding round was led by Abacus Investments, with continued backing from Spadel, Faraday Venture Partners, and the Meert Family.
Colin Deblonde, co-founder of Dripl, expressed excitement about the funding, stating, “Real behavior change only occurs when the healthy and sustainable option is superior to alternatives on every level. This funding round enables us to make healthy refilling a global norm. We are committed to reshaping how people hydrate at work for the long term.”
In the European landscape of 2025, Dripl’s €4 million funding round stands out among a small group of similar investments in smart hydration and sustainable beverage infrastructure.
Notably, Amsterdam-based Aquablu raised €7 million to expand its smart water dispensers internationally, highlighting the ongoing interest in technology-driven alternatives to bottled water in workplaces and public spaces.
Wim Flo, CEO of Abacus Investments, emphasized the alignment of Dripl with their impact-driven investment philosophy. He stated, “Their sugar-free drinks promote healthier hydration, while their dispensers significantly reduce single-use packaging. We are thrilled to support Dripl in their next phase and to join the Refillution.”
Founded in 2020, Dripl aims to revolutionize the beverage industry. Through its smart Refill Points, Dripl offers water and flavored drinks with functional benefits, such as ginger-lime or raspberry-grapefruit, without added sugar or unnecessary CO₂e emissions.
Dripl’s dispenser, designed for workplaces, combines hydration, sustainability, and convenience, providing a zero-waste alternative to traditional bottled drinks and water.
The concept of Dripl originated five years ago when co-founders Colin and Lucas realized the limitations of flavored drinks in single-use packaging. The duo, then students, set out on a mission to create a better solution.
With over 500 clients, including Moore, Cordeel, Visma, and PostNL, Dripl has helped prevent more than 15 million single-use packages, equivalent to avoiding one disposable package every second during work hours. The company’s ultimate goal is to eliminate 1 billion single-use packages and transform workplace hydration practices.
Colin highlighted the company’s achievements in building a profitable hardware and drinks scale-up that promotes healthy, sustainable hydration. He emphasized the need to challenge the dominance of large corporations pushing single-use, sugary drinks on a massive scale.
