Elon Musk’s AI Startup xAI Sees Co-Founders Departure

In recent developments at Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI, it has been confirmed that all co-founders, including Manuel Kroiss and Ross Nordeen, have left the company. This follows previous reports suggesting a mass exodus of co-founders from the company.

According to Business Insider, Kroiss and Nordeen officially parted ways with xAI, with Kroiss announcing his departure earlier, followed by Nordeen leaving the company a few days later.

Elon Musk, the founder of xAI, recently acknowledged that the company needed restructuring, stating that it was not initially built to his standards and is now undergoing a complete overhaul. The acquisition of xAI by Musk’s SpaceX has brought together multiple entities, including SpaceX, xAI, and X (formerly Twitter), under a single corporate entity, coinciding with SpaceX’s rumored plans to go public.

Kroiss and Nordeen played pivotal roles at xAI, with Kroiss heading the pretraining team and Nordeen serving as Musk’s key associate within the company. Nordeen, who previously worked at Tesla, was instrumental in overseeing significant organizational changes at Twitter following Musk’s acquisition in 2022.

TechCrunch has initiated contact with xAI for further insights and comments on the recent developments.
