Ton Ecosystem partners to help Telegram's decentralised AI network unseat OpenAI

Telegram’s Cocoon AI network is gearing up for a major expansion of graphics processing units, thanks to a significant investment from AlphaTON Capital, a key player in the Ton blockchain ecosystem.

AlphaTON has partnered with SingularityNET, CUDO Compute, and Vertical Data to deploy a large number of high-performance GPUs on the network. These GPUs will be housed in a sustainably-powered data center in Sweden, running on hydroelectric power. The goal is to provide the necessary computing power for Cocoon to support Telegram’s vision of a decentralized AI ecosystem.

Cocoon, short for “Confidential Compute Open Network,” is a decentralized AI infrastructure network built on the Ton blockchain. It enables anyone to contribute computing resources and earn $TON cryptocurrency by renting out their hardware to the network’s customers.

With Cocoon AI, users can maintain control of the data they provide to AI systems, aligning with the privacy-focused principles of the Ton blockchain. The project, spearheaded by Telegram founder Pavel Durov, aims to make AI more accessible and beneficial to the public.

AlphaTON’s support for Cocoon AI not only aids in the growth of the Ton blockchain ecosystem but also facilitates the adoption of AI technology. By deploying GPUs, AlphaTON stands to generate significant revenue in $TON.

An Ethical & Sustainable Foundation for AI

AlphaTON’s GPU fleet is financed through Vertical Data’s GPUFinancing subsidiary, with support from SingularityNET and CUDO Compute. This deployment marks a crucial step in promoting ethical AI, data privacy, and environmental sustainability.

The partnership aims to minimize the carbon footprint of AI workloads by housing the GPUs in a hydroelectric-powered data center. Janet Adams of the SingularityNET Foundation emphasizes the importance of decentralized infrastructure in the AI industry.

Brittany Kaiser, CEO of AlphaTON, highlights the need for AI infrastructure that prioritizes user sovereignty, environmental responsibility, and decentralized governance. The partnership signifies a shift towards a future where privacy and sustainability are core principles in AI development.

AlphaTON and its partners are set to scale their GPU fleet in the coming years, with the potential for continued growth beyond 2026. The goal is to propel decentralized AI to new heights.
