The End of an Era: Toyota Supra to Cease Production

Rumors are rife that the iconic Toyota Supra will bid farewell to the automotive world as the fifth-generation GR Supra is slated to be phased out by March 2026.

The A90 generation Supra, known for its high-performance capabilities, shares its foundation with the BMW Z4 and is meticulously crafted at Magna Steyr’s state-of-the-art facility in Graz, Austria.

The Final Edition of the Toyota Supra made its grand debut last year and hit the European market in the spring of 2025. This swan song variant is built upon an upgraded platform, boasting a sturdier body, enhanced suspension, and brakes. Moreover, it comes equipped with a revamped chassis featuring optimized active differential control.

The heart of the Final Edition remains unchanged, housing a BMW-sourced 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that pumps out an impressive 429 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.

While Toyota is yet to officially announce a successor to the A90 Supra, speculations are rife that a new model could grace the roads in 2027. Unlike its predecessor, the upcoming Supra is rumored to be powered by Toyota’s very own 2.0-liter turbo hybrid engine, delivering an estimated 394 hp.
