Enhanced Understanding: Google Home’s Latest Update Supercharges Gemini’s Command Recognition
Google Enhances Home App with Gemini AI Assistant Update
In its latest update to the Home app, Google aims to provide a more natural and reliable smart home control experience with its Gemini AI assistant. The release notes highlight improvements that allow users to describe their desired lighting using creative prompts, like “the color of the ocean,” for Gemini to interpret and adjust accordingly.
The update also introduces the ability to use more precise language when instructing Gemini to manage appliances or climate settings. Users can now give detailed commands such as “preheat the smart oven to 350 degrees” or set specific humidity levels, enhancing the overall user experience. Google has enhanced Gemini’s device recognition capabilities, enabling faster response times by accurately identifying devices like distinguishing between a ‘lamp’ and a ‘light’. Moreover, supervised Google accounts for kids now have access to Gemini for Home.
Furthermore, Google has announced an update to Gemini Live, a feature that facilitates interactive conversations with the smart assistant. The news summaries provided by Gemini Live are now more comprehensive and engaging on smart displays and speakers. Users can now ask Gemini for detailed news updates or tech news summaries during conversations, making the experience more informative. These updates are currently being rolled out to users.
