Exclusive: Honor Magic 8 Pro Air Unveiled Prior to Official China Debut

Following the global launch of its Magic 8 Pro flagship, Honor has confirmed its entry into the super-thin smartphone market, joining Apple, Samsung, and Motorola.

Introducing the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air, the company is set to challenge its major competitors.

Honor has revealed the phone’s launch date in China: January 19. While specific details are limited, leaks offer insights into what to expect.

The new ultra-slim phone to beat?

The main attraction of ultra-slim phones is their thinness, and Honor appears to take a cautious approach in this aspect.

According to leaks from Beginner’s Review on Weibo, the Magic 8 Pro Air is expected to be 6.1mm thick, slightly thicker than its main rivals: the iPhone Air, Galaxy S25 Edge, and Edge 70.

Despite its thickness, the Magic 8 Pro Air offers a larger battery capacity, housing a 5500mAh silicon-carbon (Si-C) cell with wireless charging support. Weighing only 155g, it surpasses its competitors in terms of weight.

Leaked images suggest the phone will feature a triple rear camera setup, although specific lens details are not yet known.

If Honor can address common issues such as battery life and camera quality in ultra-slim devices, the Magic 8 Pro Air could see success in the market.
