Exciting Updates Coming to ChatGPT

OpenAI is gearing up to introduce a series of new features for ChatGPT, their popular AI-powered chatbot. These updates are currently undergoing internal testing and are expected to be rolled out in the upcoming weeks.

One of the notable additions to ChatGPT is a feature codenamed ‘Salute.’ This new feature will enable users to create tasks that involve file uploads and allow them to track the progress of these tasks.

The update also includes references to a flag indicating the preference for a specific model. This suggests that ChatGPT might soon offer optimized models tailored for local business, restaurant, and hotel results in business map widgets.

Furthermore, ChatGPT will now support a secure tunnel for MCP servers. This feature, known as “Secure Tunnel,” establishes a connection between internal MCP servers and OpenAI through a customer-hosted tunnel client, ensuring secure outbound-only HTTPS communication without requiring inbound firewall changes.

Another exciting addition is the introduction of inline editable code blocks and math blocks. This enhancement could be similar to the recently spotted writing blocks, offering users more flexibility and functionality when interacting with ChatGPT.

OpenAI recently introduced a “formatting block” feature to GPT, providing a mini editor toolbar that appears when text is highlighted in ChatGPT’s rich-text areas, such as email or writing drafts.

The gradual rollout of these feature updates for ChatGPT indicates that OpenAI is committed to enhancing the user experience. It appears that support for math blocks will also be added soon, further expanding the capabilities of this AI chatbot.
