Exclusive Release: Limited Edition Bright Yellow Subaru BRZ Special Edition
Subaru Australia has recently introduced a new limited-edition BRZ coupe known as the Subaru BRZ tS Kiiro. This special model features a vibrant yellow exterior color and a range of minor upgrades, but enthusiasts will need to act fast to secure one of the only 95 units available in Australia out of a total production of 350.
Priced at $53,590 before on-road costs, the BRZ tS Kiiro is $800 more expensive than the standard tS variant. The standout feature of this model is its ‘Sunrise Yellow’ paint scheme, which gives it a distinctive look. Other enhancements include 18-inch matte black alloy wheels, Ultrasuede seat upholstery with yellow accents, yellow stitching throughout the interior, and matte black ‘Kiiro’ badging both inside and outside the vehicle. Each car also comes with a unique build number plaque.
Under the hood, the BRZ tS Kiiro is powered by a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder ‘boxer’ engine producing 174kW of power and 250Nm of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Kiiro retains the STI-tuned suspension and Brembo brakes of the standard tS model, as well as the ‘Sport’ drive mode introduced in 2025.
The name ‘Kiiro’ translates to ‘yellow’ in Japanese kanji and is meant to represent energy and optimism, reflecting Subaru’s intention to evoke the joy of driving with this special edition BRZ. This yellow trend is not limited to Australia, as similar special editions have been launched in Japan and the US with the same bold paint finish.
In addition to the BRZ tS Kiiro, Subaru has also unveiled other yellow special edition models globally, such as the WRX STI Sport# prototype and the Levorg STI Sport R-Black Limited II STI Performance wagon. These models feature black exterior accents, black alloy wheels, and Recaro seats with unique yellow perforated upholstery. Various cosmetic STI accessories are included as standard on these Japan-exclusive models.
For those interested in the pricing of the 2026 Subaru BRZ lineup, the manual variants start at $47,890, while the automatic versions are priced the same. The tS manual is priced at $52,790, with the tS Kiiro manual and automatic both priced at $53,590.
Overall, the Subaru BRZ tS Kiiro is a limited-edition model that offers a unique driving experience with its striking yellow exterior and exclusive features. Car enthusiasts looking to stand out on the road may want to consider this special variant before it’s too late.
