Expanding the Reach of Conversational Photo Editing: From Pixels to Other Mobile Devices
Summarizing the Latest Google Photos Update
- Exciting news for non-Pixel Android users as conversational photo editing is now available
- Supported on Samsung and OnePlus phones
- Currently limited to users in the US
Google has recently announced the expansion of conversational photo editing to non-Pixel Android smartphones, offering users a new way to enhance their images with ease. This feature, previously exclusive to Pixel devices, can now be accessed on a wider range of devices.
A recent blog post on the official Google Blog confirms the accessibility of this feature to users outside the Pixel ecosystem. This innovative tool allows users to make photo edits through natural language requests, a feature that was initially introduced with the Google Pixel 10 and later extended to older Pixel models.
To utilize this feature, users simply need to open an image, select “Help me edit” in the editor, and provide instructions either through typing or voice commands. This intuitive process allows for a seamless editing experience.
The conversational photo editing tool offers a wide range of capabilities, including the ability to adjust lighting, remove background elements, add objects, and more, all through simple everyday language commands.

Restrictions and Eligibility
While this feature marks a significant advancement in photo editing technology, there are certain limitations to consider. Currently, the conversational editing tool is only available to users in the United States.
Eligible devices for this feature include the OnePlus 13 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7, as confirmed by 9to5Google. Users must also meet additional requirements, such as being at least 18 years old and having their Google Account language set to English (United States).
Furthermore, users need to have Face Groups enabled and location estimates turned on to access this feature. Despite its availability in the US, there is anticipation for its expansion to other regions, such as the UK.
For users outside the US, the wait continues for the arrival of conversational photo editing on their devices. Stay tuned for updates on the global rollout of this innovative feature.
