German startup, Donnerstag.ai, has recently secured €4.3 million in Seed funding to expand its accounts receivable management platform for suppliers across the DACH region. The funding round was led by Speedinvest, with participation from QED Investors, Crestone VC, and various European business angels.
According to Barbaros Özbugutu, co-founder and CEO of Donnerstag.ai, suppliers often face challenges due to a lack of transparency in tracking deliveries, invoices, and payments, resulting in significant financial losses. By leveraging AI technology, Donnerstag.ai aims to bring clarity to this crucial sector, enhancing Europe’s competitiveness.
In 2025, there has been a notable increase in funding rounds within the accounts receivable and working capital automation sector in Europe. The overall interest in automating receivables and improving cash flow for businesses in Europe is evident from the total funding of approximately €127.7 million in this sector. While Donnerstag.ai focuses on supplier receivables in the DACH region, other companies like Tapline and Factris are making strides in related areas, showcasing the growing trend of automation in European markets.
Founded by Barbaros Özbugutu and Volkan Özkan in 2025, Donnerstag.ai is dedicated to providing a specialized AI-powered accounts receivable management platform for suppliers. By integrating data from various systems and employing intelligent algorithms, the platform helps companies prevent payment losses and gain insights into their outstanding receivables.
Stefan Klestil, General Partner at Speedinvest, acknowledges the unique approach of Donnerstag.ai in leveraging AI technology to redefine financial systems. He highlights the strategic vision and executional strength of the founders, emphasizing the company’s role in shaping the future of European financial technology.
