Exploring the Latest Features in iOS 26 Beta 4

iOS 26 beta 4 has been released for iPhones on the developer beta release cycle, bringing a host of new changes compared to the previous version.

One of the notable design changes in macOS Tahoe 26 is the revamped Music app, which now mirrors the look of the Podcasts app. The sidebar now dynamically responds to the content beneath it, rather than being a separate element of the window.

Notifications on the Mac have also received a redesign to align with the new look of iOS 26.

These changes were accidentally revealed on Monday when Apple mistakenly released the macOS Tahoe 26 public beta through the wrong beta channel. The macOS Tahoe 26 developer beta 4 was initially available on Apple’s developer portal before being rolled out via OTA update.

In terms of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, early observations indicate that Liquid Glass has returned to the toolbars, with a less frosted appearance compared to beta 3.

The Camera app now features an informational splash screen showcasing the redesign.

The Phone app has updated settings related to silencing unknown callers and managing the new call screening feature.

A Dynamic color option has been added for the iOS 26/iPadOS 26 wallpaper in beta 4, building upon the new color options introduced in the previous beta.

After pausing News & Entertainment notification summaries, Apple has reintroduced the feature in iOS 26 beta 4.

The Camera app icon now displays less of the inset black bezel and more of the camera sensor, resembling the ultra-wide camera sensor.

CarPlay now offers color options for the new iOS 26 wallpaper design, with several existing options being removed.

On the Mac, there is now a shuffle option for provided photos to use as wallpapers.

iOS 26 beta 4 enhances the Lock Screen wallpaper by darkening it when notifications are present, improving legibility and contrast.
