If you're in the mood for a shapeshifting open world labyrinth, NaissanceE follow-up SenS has a new update

The Latest Update for SenS: An Open World Spelunking Game

NaissancE developers Limasse Five have recently rolled out a significant update for SenS, their early access open-world spelunking game. In SenS, players embark on a journey to explore an immersive Structure in search of Unique Places, tools, and artifacts. Despite being a fan of ImpossiblE ArchitecturE, the existence of SenS came as news to me.

Launched on Steam in 2022, SenS features a captivating world filled with torqued cuboids, sunken city pockets, and vaguely fractal fissures. While there are no active threats in the game, players must navigate through traps and Unstable Zones that evolve from simple architectural structures to complex and labyrinthine mazes as they progress.

Apart from the architectural wonders, SenS also offers Unique Places that serve as portals to different parts of the Structure. These places house various objects that players can use to decorate their home environment or enhance their gameplay experience. From tools like bags, candles, lanterns, and ropes to objects that grant new abilities, SenS provides a diverse range of items for players to discover.

Lead developer Mavros Sedeño describes SenS as “the evolved vision of the Naissance project.” Drawing inspiration from influential works like Blame!, House of Leaves, and Foundation SCP, SenS promises a unique and immersive gaming experience that builds upon the legacy of NaissanceE.

The recent update for SenS introduces players to new layers of exploration gameplay, including hidden safe places within the Unstable Zone. While the game is still in the prototype stage, Sedeño assures players of a few bugs that may surface during gameplay, adding to the cosmic dungeon atmosphere of SenS.

Looking ahead, Sedeño plans to offer more regular updates to SenS, with a focus on adding new Unique Places and improving gameplay features. Despite the visual quality of the game being a work in progress, the current art style of SenS is visually striking and engaging.

Although SenS is far from completion, players can enjoy a 20% discount until February 4th. For fans of NaissanceE’s space and architecture, SenS offers a new world to explore and get lost in. As players navigate through this cathedral of godflesh, they can expect a blend of mystery, exploration, and unique gameplay challenges.
