The Success Story of Gamma: A Double-Unicorn AI Startup

In an exciting development, Gamma, a pioneering startup specializing in AI-generated presentations, websites, and social media content, recently secured a remarkable $68 million Series B funding round. This funding, valuing the company at $2.1 billion, was spearheaded by the renowned venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.

The Co-founder and CEO of Gamma, Grant Lee, proudly shared on social media that the company has achieved impressive profitability, reaching $100 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and boasting 70 million users. Notably, Gamma achieved profitability early on, hitting the $50 million mark within its initial two years of operation. Prior to this, the company had successfully raised a $12 million Series A round led by Accel in 2024.

Despite being a relatively young player in the AI industry, Gamma has made significant strides since its establishment in late 2020, as per Lee’s LinkedIn profile. The company officially launched its product in 2022, marking its entry into the market. What sets Gamma apart is its strategic approach to fundraising, having achieved a double-unicorn valuation with a total fundraising amount of approximately $90 million. Impressively, this milestone was reached with a lean team of just 50 employees, emphasizing the company’s efficiency and focus.

The recent Series B funding round not only attracted major investors like Andreessen Horowitz but also saw continued support from existing backers such as Accel and Uncork Capital. Additionally, Gamma’s investor base includes prominent names like South Park Commons, Hustle Fund, and others. Noteworthy is the inclusion of a $20 million secondary offering in the latest round, providing early employees with liquidity and further solidifying the company’s commitment to its team.
