Gemini Unveils Seamless Chrome Integration for iPhone and iPad Users
Google’s Gemini AI features, previously only available on Chrome desktop, are now expanding to the iOS version of the browser. According to reports from 9to5Google and Engadget, users will now see a new icon in the left corner of the address bar on their iPhone or iPad. This icon, shaped like a notebook page with the Gemini star symbol, allows users to ask Gemini questions about the content on their screen or have it summarize webpages.
While the capabilities of this integration are somewhat limited compared to the full Gemini experience, it can still be a useful tool for quick information without leaving the current webpage. To access the feature, users must be signed in on the iOS version of Chrome and the feature does not work in Incognito mode. Currently, Gemini integration only supports English language.
If users are still seeing the Google Lens icon instead of the new Gemini icon, they should update the Chrome app from the App Store and check again. If the new icon is still not visible, users may have to wait as the feature is rolling out gradually to all users. Google’s support page for the feature mentions that it is not yet available to everyone.
In conclusion, the Gemini AI features are now making their way to iOS devices, offering a convenient way to access quick information without leaving the current webpage. Users should ensure they are signed in and update their Chrome app to access the new Gemini icon.
