Genesis Recalls Nearly 84,000 Vehicles Due to Infotainment Screen Issue

Genesis has announced a recall of approximately 84,000 vehicles due to a problem with the infotainment and display screen, which has been reported to shut off while the vehicle is in motion. The affected models include the Genesis G80, Electrified G80, GV70, Electrified GV70, and GV80, all of which were manufactured between 2025 and 2026.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has identified a software logic issue related to the HD radio memory as the cause of the glitch. This glitch can lead to the infotainment screen and instrumental panel rebooting while the vehicle is being driven, potentially obscuring crucial information for the driver.

Despite no accidents or injuries being reported, Genesis received over 237 complaints regarding the faulty screen between September 26, 2024, and January 2, 2026. In response, the automaker initiated a remedy software update on November 26, 2025.

Owners of the affected vehicles are advised to disable the HD Radio feature until the remedy has been applied. Genesis will be sending notifications to affected owners via mail, providing instructions on how to bring their vehicles to the nearest dealership for a technician to inspect and update the software if necessary. Additionally, Genesis plans to utilize over-the-air software updates for eligible vehicles.

If you are unsure whether your vehicle is affected, you can visit the NHTSA website for more information. Stay informed and ensure your vehicle’s safety by taking the necessary steps outlined by Genesis.
