Google Cloud has recently unveiled Gemini Enterprise, a revolutionary platform described as “the new gateway for AI in the workplace.” This platform, announced during a virtual press event, consolidates Google’s Gemini models, first and third-party agents, and the core technology previously known as Google Agentspace to create a unified agentic platform. The primary goal is to democratize the development and utilization of AI-powered agents for streamlining complex workflows and enhancing productivity across entire organizations.

Thomas Kurian, the CEO of Google Cloud, introduced this new offering by noting the shift from merely building AI-based applications to advancing to building agents. Gemini Enterprise serves as Google’s response to this evolution by integrating its entire AI stack into a seamless user experience, allowing developers and business users to develop agents using a no-code workbench.

The platform is constructed around six fundamental components. The “brains” consist of Google’s potent Gemini models, including the newly introduced Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. The “workbench” involves agent creation and orchestration technology pioneered with Agentspace, enabling any user to manage agents and automate processes. Additionally, there is the “taskforce,” which includes a set of pre-built Google agents for specialized tasks such as the Code Assist Agent and the Deep Research Agent.

To enhance the effectiveness of these agents, deep integration with a company’s data is facilitated through new connectors for platforms like Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, Box, Confluence, and Jira. The system’s intelligence leverages personalized contextual information to optimize user interactions with a vast language model.

A centralized “governance” framework has been implemented to enable organizations to monitor, secure, and audit all agents from a single location, incorporating protections like Model Armor. Furthermore, the platform operates within an open “ecosystem” comprising over 100,000 partners.

Gemini Enterprise: A Glimpse into the Future of Work
Maryam Gholami demonstrated the platform’s capabilities by showcasing a practical use case. She highlighted that Gemini Enterprise offers a familiar interface tailored for enterprise workflows, providing full control to enable or disable various sources as required.

Using a custom ‘campaigns agent,’ Gholami showcased the utilization of four different agents for market research, media generation, team communications, and inventory management. The agent successfully identified a market trend towards sci-fi themes, identified a 25 percent inventory gap, facilitated a purchase order in ServiceNow, drafted an email to store managers, and generated social media assets.

Gholami emphasized that Gemini Enterprise transcends a mere chat interface, serving as an end-to-end AI system that harmonizes data, tools, and teams to streamline complex work processes into a singular, cohesive conversation.

Customers Drive Transformation with AI Fleets
Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages, underscored the importance of cultural transformation in driving the success of AI-driven initiatives. He emphasized that AI should complement, not replace, the workforce, aiming to extract the best from employees and unlock human potential.

Virgin Voyages has deployed a fleet of over 50 specialized AI agents company-wide, with ‘Email Ellie’ being the first agent introduced. This deployment resulted in a 40 percent acceleration in content production speed and contributed to a 28 percent year-over-year increase in sales. Operational benefits included a 35 percent reduction in agency dependency costs, fostering creative independence.

Macquarie Bank, one of Australia’s largest financial institutions, has also embraced Gemini Enterprise, empowering every employee with the platform. The bank reported that 99 percent of its staff completed generative AI training, highlighting the broad adoption of AI technologies.

Google emphasized the openness of Gemini Enterprise by collaborating with partners like Box, Salesforce, and ServiceNow to deliver compatible agents. A new AI agent finder tool was introduced to help customers explore validated partner solutions.

Pricing and Availability of Gemini Enterprise
Gemini Enterprise is globally available in all regions where Google Cloud products are marketed. The platform offers Gemini Business for small enterprises starting at $21 per seat per month, while larger organizations can opt for the standard and plus editions of Gemini Enterprise starting at $30 per seat per month.

Kurian emphasized that the launch of Gemini Enterprise aims to democratize advanced technology, making potent AI capabilities easily accessible to companies and users.
