- Google is currently rolling out the November Pixel Drop, introducing new features to Pixel smartphones.
- The update, usually released every few months, has arrived a month earlier than expected.
- Main features of the November Pixel Drop include themes, notification summaries, scam protection, and more.
The latest Pixel Drop from Google brings a host of new features to Pixel smartphones, with the update already in the process of rolling out.
This particular Pixel Drop is unique as it arrived earlier than anticipated, offering users new functionalities sooner than expected.
Highlighted below are the key additions you can anticipate with the November Pixel Drop, with a detailed overview available on Google’s support page.
Introducing Notification Summaries
Google has leveraged its advanced AI technology to provide concise summaries of incoming notifications directly in the notification shade. This feature allows users to grasp the essence of lengthy messages or conversations at a glance, without needing to open the respective app.
A similar functionality has been observed in recent versions of iOS by Apple, albeit with varying degrees of usefulness. Google’s implementation aims to offer more insightful summaries for users.
Starting from December, users will have the option to mute lower-priority notifications as well.
Personalized Photo Editing
Google continues to enhance its naturalistic image editing tools with the introduction of the ability to enhance group photos with a simple command.
By selecting “Help me edit” and instructing Photos to perform specific edits like removing sunglasses or making people smile, the tool will utilize information from other images in your gallery to make the necessary adjustments, provided contacts are accurately labeled in Face Groups.
Currently, this feature is limited to the US and requires users to be over 18 with location estimates enabled.
Enhanced Scam Protection in Messages
Google has enhanced its scam detection capabilities with the latest Pixel Drop, offering scam alerts across various popular messaging services.
Users will receive a notification alerting them to a potentially fraudulent message, labeled as “Likely scam.”
Currently, this feature is only available in the US and is exclusive to Pixel 6 phones and later models.
Exciting Theme Packs
A highly anticipated addition to the November Pixel Drop, Google is introducing themed customization packs for Pixel phones. These packs include custom wallpapers, icons, GIFs, and sound options.
To kick off this feature, a “Wicked: For Good” theme pack is being provided to coincide with the release of a new musical movie, offering users three distinct styles to choose from.

VIP Prioritization
Google is enhancing its VIP contacts feature by prioritizing notifications from selected VIP contacts. Additionally, a crisis badge will now be displayed in the Contacts widget to provide users with critical alert updates.
Photo Remixes
Google has introduced a Remix feature in Google Messages, allowing users to make real-time edits within message threads. Users can exchange remixes with other Google Messages users, with the edits visible to all parties involved, irrespective of their device.

Power-Saving Mode in Google Maps
Google Maps now offers a convenient power-saving feature where pressing the power button during navigation switches the display to a simplified layout showing only essential information like upcoming turns. This ensures users have navigation assistance even when their phone is low on battery.
Expansion of Scam Detection and Call Notes
Google is extending the availability of its Scam Detection feature in voice calls to users of Google Pixel 9 and later models in the UK, Ireland, India, Australia, and Canada.
Moreover, Call Notes functionality is now rolling out to users in Australia, Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Japan, enabling transcription and summarization of phone calls.
Enhancements to Magic Cue
Google’s Magic Cue feature, intended to provide cross-app suggestions with a single tap, is receiving improvements to offer more timely and effective suggestions. Users can expect enhanced functionality and usability with this update.
