Highguard update 1.0.4 adds FoV sliders and fixes some crash issues

Wildlight has recently rolled out a new update for Highguard, featuring a new game mode called Raid Rush. In this mode, two teams of five players alternate between defending and attacking bases without a looting phase. Instead, players can upgrade their weapons and equipment between rounds by interacting with the Trader at their base, with equipment changing each round. During the Raid Rush mode, 3v3 Raids have been temporarily disabled.

Highguard Raid Rush Update Patch Notes

  • Comeback Kill Reward – Players who achieve a kill after a death streak of 3 or more will receive a bonus of 2 Vesper per death, in addition to the standard 3 for the kill.
  • Reviver Amulet Adjustment – The bonus revive speed granted by the Reviver Amulet has been reduced from 50% to 15%.
  • Developer Note: The speed of reviving with the Reviver Amulet was deemed too safe during combat situations, hence the adjustment.
  • Smuggler’s Den Enhancement – Additional defender respawns have been added to the Smuggler’s Den location.

Weapon Balance Updates

  • Vanguard – Accuracy and controllability have been reduced to address dominance at long ranges.
  • Dynasty – Damage has been increased to provide a better tradeoff for challenging recoil, requiring one fewer bullet to kill against certain shield types.
  • Corsair – The delay before the recoil pattern resets has been reduced, allowing for quicker firing without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Longhorn – Fire rate has been increased to enhance versatility at medium and close ranges.
  • Longhorn (Repeater) – Hipfire accuracy has been improved to enhance the end-game power spike experience.
  • Viper – Controllability when using the 2x Optic has been adjusted to balance long-range power.

  • Fixed a wall geo issue at Belltower in Kingdom that allowed players to walk through walls.
  • Corrected the base select length in the Firing Range to address a usability issue.

A few weeks ago, Wildlight announced layoffs shortly after the launch of Highguard. Despite this, initial impressions of the game were positive. Dom expressed, “Highguard’s foray into the PvP arena is bold and promising, drawing inspiration from various successful titles. There is great potential for growth and success if the game finds its audience.”
