Wildlight Entertainment Announces Closure of Highguard on March 12th

Wildlight Entertainment has made the difficult decision to shut down Highguard on March 12th. Despite the recent layoffs and the release of new content such as the Raid Rush mode, the game will be coming to an end. Players were informed on the official Discord that there will be some final content updates before the shutdown.

Wildlight Entertainment released a statement, expressing gratitude to the 2 million players who have experienced Highguard since its launch. The company acknowledged the feedback and support from the community but cited the inability to maintain a sustainable player base for the long term. The servers will remain active until March 12th, giving players one last chance to enjoy the game.

They also revealed plans for one final game update, introducing a new Warden, weapon, account level progression, and skill trees. The team hopes that players will join them for this final update and thanked the community for their support throughout Highguard’s journey.

In a message on Discord, admin WL-Coronach expressed disappointment about the closure but highlighted the upcoming content additions that players can look forward to. Despite the challenges, the team remains grateful for the support of the community and moderators.

Highguard was unveiled as the final game during The Game Awards, receiving mixed reactions from gamers. Despite the initial skepticism, the game’s unique blend of elements from other popular titles has garnered some positive reviews. The future potential of Highguard was recognized by critics, hoping that it would find the audience needed to thrive.
