Highguard’s Temporary Mode: Increasing Match Headcount
Wildlight’s Highguard Update Introduces Experimental 5v5 Raid Mode
Highguard, the latest game from developer Wildlight, has been receiving feedback about its 3v3 Raids and the size of its maps. In response, Wildlight has introduced an experimental new raid mode that increases the headcount to 5v5. This change aims to address player concerns and bring a new dynamic to the gameplay experience.
According to a Steam blog post, the new 5v5 Raid Mode is a separate playlist and will not replace the existing 3v3 Raids. The update also includes tweaks to accommodate the larger teams, such as increasing the number of lives in raids to 10 and adjusting respawn times to allow for strategic gameplay around planting and defusing generators.
Alongside the new raid mode, players will also discover the addition of the Soul Well base, described as a “dark relic from a lost age” that has been prepared for use by the Iron Vigil. Various improvements have been made to animation performance, projectiles, draw submission times, and other gameplay systems. Additionally, players now have the option to toggle motion blur on or off.
While these updates may seem incremental, the introduction of 5v5 Raid Mode promises to inject new excitement into Highguard’s gameplay. Players can look forward to experiencing the changes and seeing how they impact their overall gaming experience.
