Among the standout devices at MWC 2026 was Honor’s Robot Phone, and it’s not just a prototype destined to gather dust on a shelf.

Honor has been teasing this device, and the mobile-centric event in Barcelona marked its first public demonstration. Described by Honor as “a new breed of smartphone,” it primarily houses a concealed camera mounted on a motorized gimbal.

While tech showcases often feature exciting concepts that never hit the market, Honor assures that the Robot Phone will be available later this year, potentially starting with sales in China.

The camera boasts a 200Mp sensor, aligning it with top-tier competitors like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The three-axis gimbal system ensures smooth video capture, with a Super Steady Video mode and intelligent 90° and 180° rotational movements for seamless cinematic transitions.

The camera is infused with AI to exhibit Wall-E-esque behavior, responding with emotional body language, expressive nods, head shakes, dancing to music, recognizing hand gestures, and even providing outfit commentary.

While the release date and pricing of the Honor Robot Phone are yet to be disclosed, it is poised to be a one-of-a-kind offering in the market, setting it apart from the competition.
