FBI releases recovered footage from Nancy Guthrie’s Nest cam

The FBI Releases Footage in Nancy Guthrie Disappearance Case

After over a week since Nancy Guthrie went missing, the FBI has made a significant development by releasing footage captured by a Nest camera installed at Guthrie’s front door. FBI Director Kash Patel revealed that law enforcement has been collaborating with “private sector partners” to gather evidence, and the video was retrieved from residual data stored in backend systems. Google representative Patrick Seybold informed The Verge that the company is actively supporting the investigation.

Video Evidence Reveals Suspicious Activity

The FBI has unveiled two videos and several still images from the camera footage. In the first video, an unidentified individual wearing a mask and carrying a backpack approaches the camera, obscures the lens with a glove, and then retrieves an object from the yard. The second video shows the same individual using a bundle of leaves to obstruct the camera’s view.

Ransom Demands and Lack of Suspects

The case took a disturbing turn when a potential abductor or abductors sent ransom letters to media outlets, requesting a substantial amount of Bitcoin. Despite this, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed on Monday that no suspects, persons of interest, or related vehicles have been identified in connection to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

Reward Offered for Information

The FBI is now offering a reward of up to $50,000 for any information that could lead to finding Nancy Guthrie and/or apprehending those responsible for her disappearance. Guthrie, described as a vulnerable adult who struggles with mobility, relies on a pacemaker, and requires daily medication for a heart condition, was last seen at her residence on January 31st.
