Meta Introduces AI Translation Tool for Facebook and Instagram Users

Meta is expanding the reach of its AI translation tool on Facebook and Instagram, allowing users to automatically translate their reels into different languages. This innovative feature utilizes AI technology to sync the dub with the user’s voice and mouth movements, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

Translate Your Reels with Meta AI

Currently, users can translate their reels from English to Spanish (and vice versa), a feature that was initially showcased by Meta during its Connect event last year. To access this tool, users need to enable the “Translate voices with Meta AI” toggle before publishing a reel on Instagram and Facebook. Additionally, Meta offers the option to incorporate lip-syncing into the dubbed video and allows users to review it before making it public.

Automatic Translation and Visibility

Facebook and Instagram will automatically display translated reels to users in their preferred language, enhancing accessibility and user experience. Videos that have been translated using Meta AI will be labeled accordingly. The translation tool is currently being rolled out to Facebook creators with 1,000 or more followers and all public Instagram accounts.
